With a population of plus or minus 38,000 souls Monaco takes New York, population 8.4 million and the Big Apple swoons. Monaco, an independent microstate on France’s Mediterranean coastline, showcases its rich heritage from now through February 21. If you’re curious about this beautiful Principality and you’re in New York, this is a perfect opportunity to experience Monaco’s culture, which is surprisingly broad and deep for such a small destination.

The main act is Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo performing Cinderella at New York City Center, accompanied by an exhibit of behind-the-scenes photographs at the New York Headquarters of the auction house, Christie’s, and a culinary week highlighting the Principality’s cuisine with Monaco’s visiting chef Paolo Sari at Circo and Le Cirque restaurants. Other details released by the Consulate General of Monaco follow.

Chef Sari will apply his innovative and avant-garde farm-to-table style to create the week’s prix-fixe 100% organic menus – lunch and dinner at Circo; 6-course degustation dinner only at Le Cirque.
