For some gays and lesbians, Easter means a swinging chalice and chanting; others drink bloody Marys’ and search for Peter’s cotton tail (he’s still asleep in his Calvin’s). In case you need a guide to finding an Easter egg brunch, here are a few coastal suggestions with a prairie stop.

Why: It’s hot and it makes you thirsty. You need someplace where everyone knows your name. It’s Rosie’s, a Fort Lauderdale favorite with Sam and

George, instead of Sam and Diane. It’s about the tropical outdoors, the bad drag shows, beverages but most of all the camaraderie. (And the food is pretty good too!).

San Francisco
Where: Starbelly
Why: At Castro-located Starbelly, the food is seasonal and locally-sourced. Housemade chorizo pizza with a baked egg is sublime. In San Francisco, sexual ambiguity is the norm. Inhabitants are consumed with brewing home beers, wild-caught tuna and walking around naked.
What Egg to Hatch: Housemade Chorizo Pizza with Eggs and Cilantro. $16.
Denver
Where: Linger
Why: It’s a former mortuary, now a restaurant. Perfect place for Easter. More importantly, Denver peeps appreciate what’s on their tastebuds. (We don’t mean the tongue piercings either.)
